The enrich IT History

enrich IT was founded in 2003 by Arul Murugan. Arul's vision was to provide end-to-end business solutions to companies by providing the right technology for a company's unique business needs in terms of enterprise application management, business process management, technology services and software licensing. Business transactions started early in 2004 and since then have consistently grown in revenue, nearly doubling every year.

Arul Murugan and his wife, Kavitha Palani started the company with $25,000 of initial capital. At the end of 2008, the company had more than $3M in assets without incurring any debt or the need to borrow money for future growth. Because they have 100% ownership in the company, they are able to reinvest the profits back into the growth of the company allowing it to organically grow and prosper.

With a careful strategy of planning the infrastructure and knowing when to add key employees, the company has been able to sustain growth without great financial risk. A typical consulting company hires developers with a focus in the financial services industry. However, enrich IT has focused specifically on hiring top talented functional consultants from different sub sectors in both the supply chain domain and in the manufacturing industry. This difference in focus has allowed enrich IT to sustain its solid growth even during a recession that started in 2008.

Currently enrich IT has more than 100 Oracle consultants in supply chain / procurement making enrich IT one of the top global companies with a strong Oracle supply chain practice. The typical enrich IT consultant has 10+ years of experience with 5+ years of experience in industry and 5+ years of experience in Oracle EBS.

In the very early years of enrich IT, nearly 95% of the back office work was outsourced to the enrich IT team in Chennai. This allowed enrich IT to keep costs very low while growing the company and yet providing a superior product to its customers. In late 2008, enrich IT opened a development center in Hyderabad specifically focused on building Oracle COE. Within 1 year a strong 30 member team has been assembled and the company is now positioned to hire another 100 Oracle experts within the next year. Arul Murugan describes himself as a "technocrat." He has sound business knowledge in supply chain and procurement and from the company's very beginnings his goal was to develop a product that would add value to clients already using Oracle software. By the end of 2008 enrich IT became one of the 3 tier 1 global partners for Oracle in providing procurement BPO solutions. In addition to this, Arul and his team introduced a new concept called Platform BPO, which helps clients reduce procurement costs and increase their bottom line. This product alone has the potential to grow $100M within 5 years.
